SPRINT'S BASEL HOUSE MURAL FESTIVAL

Art Week in Miami is my favorite week of the year. The best galleries of the world come to our city to show us the best of the best of the art world, and it's all around town. The city turns in a huge venue of events filled with art, music, and fun.

Wynnwood plays a huge roll on Art Week because it's filled with incredible graffiti art all year round, that's why I was so excited to attend the Sprint VIP launch event at The Basel House Mural Festival. The event was made for the unveiling of an iconic mural portrayed by artist Ruben Ubiera and contributing artist Golden.

Ruben Gerardo Ubiera Gonzalez (born October 19, 1975 in Santo Domingo,Dominican Republic) is a neo-figurative artist, known for his strong use of the line, graffiti inspired technique/esthetic, urban murals, mixed-media pieces and installations, all created with reclaimed-objects and found artifacts. He paints and draws in a style considered as Postgraffism, but he prefers to call it urban-pop, since he has lived most of his life in urban, populated areas and most of his inspiration is derived from the inter activity between man and his urban environment.

The event had great food, drinks, music and best of all we got to learn how to make our own graffiti! Let me tell you that creating a graffiti looks way easier than it actually is, we did a small graffiti, only names, in a piece of wood, and it was very hard to dominate the spray can, so I can't even imagine how hard it must be to create a whole mural on a huge wall.

Thank you Sprint for sponsoring this post.
