FIGHTING MUCUS AND COUGHS

Having three kids at home is the perfect recipe to always have at least one of them with Mucus and/or Cough. Since it happens so often, at first, I always try to treat them with natural alternatives, rather than strong medicines.

There are three products I strongly recommend.

1. Zarbee's Naturals Children's Cough Syrup + Mucus with Dark Honey

There are two types, a "regular" and a "nighttime", and I use both of them. It has a blend of natural dark honeys to help with cough and antioxidants, vitamin C, and zinc to help support the immune system.

It is completely natural and it has no artificial flavors, sweeteners, drugs, chemicals, alcohol nor dyes, and it's also gluten free.

The "nighttime" version has melatonin, which is a a non-habit forming and drug-free ingredient, to help them sleep.

There is also one for babies, which uses Agave instead of honey, and makes it safe to give it to your infants, 2 months and over.

You can find it almost in any pharmacy. Click here to go to their website

2. Saline Nasal Spray

I don't care for any brand in particular, but this is an amazing product for mucus. It's non-medicated and can be used as often as needed without the worry of any harmful side effect or drug interaction. It helps loosen the mucus secretion, which makes the aspiration and removal from nose quite simple.

There are a few brands that make a version for babies, with a subtler spray. It's also great for adults.

3. Nose Frida

It was invented in Sweden and it's a great gadget for mucus. Basically what you do is suction your kids mucus by inhaling it, but don't worry, it has a filter system that prevents you from tasting or swallowing anything.

Works great for when your kids and infants are so stuffed that they have trouble breathing. I especially use it before bedtime to help them sleep better.

You can find it in most of baby stores. Click here for a direct link to their website
